Kimberly Aiken Cockerham

Miss America 1994, Entrepreneur, and Motivational Speaker

Not many women have ever known the distinction of holding the coveted title of Miss America.  In fact, at 18, Kimberly Aiken became one of the youngest women to ever hold the title.  She used that title to springboard her fight to educate Americans about the plight of homeless families and children.  She founded HERO (Homeless Education and Resource Organization) a homeless outreach program that provided employment and educational training.

She has received numerous awards and recognition for her community activism including being invited to address the White House briefing on Domestic Violence.  She has addressed General Assemblies in various states, and spoken at the United Nations on World Hunger Day.  She has received numerous keys to cities, Resolutions, Proclamations, and several days named in her honor.  She was also awarded the “Order of the Palmetto”, which is the highest honor given by the State of South Carolina and was named one of Cincinnati’s Forty Under Forty for 2003.

Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from New York University.  She is the Director of Finance for Cockerham & Associates, a diversity consulting firm.  She is also President and Founder of her own image consulting and motivational speaking firm, Kimberly Aiken, Inc.

A professional speaker for over ten years, Kimberly uplifts audiences with her entertaining, motivational, and inspirational programs that are tailored to your specific audience and event.  She delights audiences with her varied experiences and shares her story of overcoming obstacles, such as brain surgery, to find success and a personal sense of balance.

She is married and is the mother of two young children.

She has worked with organizations such as Procter & Gamble, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the YWCA, and Girl Scouts of America.
